The Coromandel peninsula is east of Auckland and is a rugged, densely forested region, where rivers force their way through gorges and pour down steep cliffs to the sea. (true this is guide book talk, but we have been there!) Unfortunately for all of you, we forgot to take photographs on our way trough the forests.

Digging a warm water bathtub at Hot Water Beach.
Right under the beach is some vulcan ic action. If you dig a hole at low tide you can enjoy the outdoors from a heated bathtub. Needless to say that everybody was trying to create his private tub on the same spot. A real shame because I could imagine us already nipping from the champagne while watching a sunset from our bathtub (alone).
